Divorce Counsel Match

Privacy policy

Last updated August 31, 2026

Important notice: Divorce Counsel Match is not a law firm. Information submitted here is not protected by attorney-client privilege. Do not send Social Security numbers, account details, passwords, medical records, children's names, the other party's name, communications with a lawyer, or case documents.

1. Scope and notice at collection

This policy describes how Divorce Counsel Match ("Divorce Counsel Match," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit the website, submit an attorney match request, or communicate with us. We collect the categories described below to evaluate and deliver your requested introduction, communicate about it, operate and secure the service, measure performance, and maintain consent and compliance records. A participating law firm may pay us for the introduction.

2. Information we collect

  • General match details: ZIP code, general family-law matter, timing, filing status, whether minor children are involved, general financial complexity, and the type of help requested.
  • Contact details: name, telephone number, email address, preferred contact method, and preferred time.
  • Optional notes: the high-level context you choose to provide. Please follow the warning above and do not include names or confidential documents.
  • Attribution and technical data: landing page, referrer, UTM values, gclid, fbclid, IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, page requests, and security logs.
  • Consent and transaction records: request ID, submission time, the disclosure and version shown at submission, and your affirmative agreement.

3. Sources of information

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your browser and our hosting or security providers, and from advertising or referral partners through campaign parameters.

4. How we use information

  • review, score, route, and respond to your request;
  • look for one participating family-law firm that may fit;
  • make the requested introduction and support communications;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
  • measure campaign performance and prevent fraud or misuse; and
  • maintain consent records, enforce terms, and comply with law.

5. How we disclose information

At your direction, we may disclose the request and contact details to one participating law firm so it can check general fit, conflicts, and availability and decide whether to contact you. A law firm is an independent business and handles information under its own privacy and professional obligations. Disclosure does not mean the firm represents you.

We may also disclose information to providers of hosting, security, communications, analytics, campaign measurement, and lead delivery; to professional advisers; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or in connection with a merger, financing, sale, or transfer of the service.

6. Compensated introductions

A participating law firm may pay Divorce Counsel Match for advertising or an introduction. Depending on the law where you live, a compensated lead disclosure may be considered a "sale" of personal data even though you requested it. We do not disclose your request to unrelated data brokers or a list of firms. If you do not want the requested disclosure, do not submit. After submission, you may ask us to stop later disclosures, but we may not be able to retrieve information already delivered to a firm.

7. Cookies and advertising data

We may use essential storage for security and reliable operation and read referral or campaign parameters to understand which advertisements produce requests. We do not state that we use cross-site behavioral advertising unless and until that technology is implemented and the required notices and controls are provided.

8. Retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for request delivery, consent and audit records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Retention varies by record type. We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, but no online system is completely secure.

9. Communication choices

You may ask Divorce Counsel Match or the participating firm to stop marketing calls or emails. Reply STOP to texts where that option is provided. Revoking contact permission does not undo processing or disclosure already completed at your direction.

10. U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on your state and whether the applicable law covers us, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy; opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or profiling; limit certain sensitive-data uses; and appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

We may verify your identity before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request where allowed by law, subject to proof of authority and identity verification. We do not offer a financial incentive for personal information.

11. Children

The service is for adults seeking legal services and is not directed to children under 18. The form asks only whether minor children are involved; do not provide a child's name or other identifying information.

12. Third parties and changes

This policy does not govern a participating firm or third-party site. We may update it as the service or law changes. The date above identifies the current version; material changes will be presented as required by law.

13. Contact

Send privacy questions or requests to privacy@divorcecounselmatch.com. Identify the email address or phone number used in the request, but do not send case details or additional sensitive information.
